In 1998, six months before the awful events of Columbine, he PREVENTED an active shooter plot just hours before it was to occur. Recovering weapons and arresting the suspect.

He has served as a D.A.R.E. Officer, High School Resource Officer, Youth Unit Supervisor, School District/Police liaison, appointed to the first School Safety Commission in the state of Utah where he helped develop legislation and made recommendations on school safety.
Organized and implemented the first Youth Court in Sandy City with a 4% recidivism rate. It still operates today. He was awarded the Unit citation award while running the Youth Unit.
Developed a multi-day SRO curriculum and Active Shooter Protocols for schools and SRO's and has been instructing for decades.
